“Sometimes it only takes one good song to bring back thousands of good, old memories”
It’s true that we connect by music in the strongest way. Someone wise said, ‘you become what you listen!’ It’s the new age people want different thing and have a varied choice when it comes to music. So many new genres of music have been discovered, and as a music lover, I respect all of them in their own way.
But there was a time when there were not many genres of music and still till date, there is no competing with them. Once Upon a Time, as a child, this was my first Fancy thing!
Below are the songs that are icons and have somewhere been forgotten but are still as golden as they were in their time.
1. Boney M – Rasputin
First on our list is none other than Boney M with his all-time classic Rasputin.
A song with a weird story to be writing a song on but well nothing justifies when Boney M singes about it. In fact, it was based on a real-life guy Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin. The 1978 song was a hit in its time and was ranking high in the pop culture of that time.
Till date, if you here the song nothing beats the music and the energy that it carried.
2. Earth Angel – The Penguins
Thank you Marty McFly for introducing me to the song! Tell me it’s not ‘Back to Future’ that you remember when u hear the 1954 song?
One of my fondest memories of childhood is, acting that my hands are diapering and I’m unable to play the guitar, to the song!
The song is so beautiful that you can listen to it on loop! Nothing is more striking than someone singing this song to their loved one carried on with a slow dance.
3. Lou Rawls – You’ll never find Another Love Like me
Well, the R & B singer had given many hits from which this song was one of the most enchanting.
Till date, if you listen to it once you cannot unhear it! Lou Rawls with his enchanting voice has always been able to swipe you off your feet.
4. Elvis Presley – Jailhouse Rock
How can a list of the famous old song not have an Elvis Presley song on it. Last on our list is Jailhouse Rock, the song was a huge hit of the ’50s and had continued to be one for a long time. It was the time of rock and roll and well the song didn’t disappoint.
5. Backstreet boys – I Want It That Way
If it isn’t this 1999 song that had the simplistic the most heartwarming lyrics of all time! I Want It That Way, was a huge hit of the 90s and its evocative instrumentation with the sweet voice of our four boys made it one of the finest recordings of The Backstreet Boys.
6. Blue – One Love
Talking about boy bands, how can we miss out the Blues from the list! They had cast a spell on all the people back in their time. All their songs are still record-breaking. It takes a powerhouse band like them to pull off an epic song like One Love!
7. Peter Andre – Mysterious Girl
Don’t resist, we all loved them at one point or another in our life! This 1995 record was once all that you can listen! Peter Andre’s voice created magic like no other!
All these songs are gems in itself and so are many others. There was this strong vibe to the music during the era in the music industry that kept the people on toes and we still adore them!
